Start Up disk full

Hi I've had my laptop a while and now have no movies or photos on it...

I have 63.5gb Other, Audio 25.77gb and small parts of the others from small files

Why is my other so high when I hardly have anything on the laptop the other week I had 19.5 gb of free space and not really done much now I have 3gb left over???

It looks like you have an unusual amount of "Other" space shown in About This Mac. I know that it's important to have enough free space on your Mac, so here are a few troubleshooting steps that may help.

First, you can find some information about "Other" space in the article What is 'Other' and 'Purgeable' in About This Mac?

If it's unexpected that your Mac is using that much space, start up in safe mode by holding down the shift key when your Mac starts up. This will perform a few system maintenance tasks on your Mac. You can refer to the instructions in Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up for more help with safe mode.

Next, try repairing your startup disk using OS X Recovery. See About OS X Recovery and Disk Utility for Mac: Repair a disk using Disk Utility .

If these steps don't help, let us know what MacBook Pro model and OS version you have, and we'll go from there.

Two suggestions:

Empty trash and reboot
Delete a few unnecessary files to Install Disk Inventory X. This program will make a visual representation of how big each file is and where in your file tree they are located at. From here, you can narrow down which files are taking up the most amount of disk space, and delete the ones you don't need.

I did this to my 128GB Air and freed up about half of the space. The biggest culprit turned out to be old iPhone backups, which you MUST delete through iTunes, but Disk Inventory X was able to help me discover this.
